Just this week, we learned that the AAUW and Educational Foundation Boards of Directors approved a single mission statement for the two organizations: "AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research." How do you feel about this change?

As president of American Association of University Women - TX, I am interested in dialogues with AAUW members, former members, those interested in becoming members, and those interested in learning more about the organization. I also want to reach as many people as possible with our mission, our vision, and our work.

That pretty well sums up all of AAUW. I like the positive tone of the statement and the ACTIVE voice of the verb.
